Hi! My name is Jan. I am a data scientist currently working on online controlled experimentation at Avast. I live in Prague, Czech Republic.
Previously I was a machine learning engineer at Seznam.cz where I helped build a recommender system for one of the most visited websites in the Czech Republic. Before coming to Seznam, I was a data science consultant, delivering projects for clients in HR, e-commerce, banking, automotive.
I spend my free time as a part-time researcher at AI Center CTU where I work on problems at the intersection of data science and traffic engineering.
I am interested in scientific computing, experiment design, recommender systems, functional programming, operations research, and many other topics.
I have an engineering master’s degree from Czech Technical University and Linköping University. I graduated in 2017.
On GitHub, you can see my personal projects and open source contritbutions. As of early 2022, I am the lead maintainer of avast/ep-stats, a package for evaluating online experiments.
